New job: Desert Anglers Fly Shop

Many of you may know by now that Cameron is making a job transition to become the owner/operator of a new fly fishing store in Midland. We own a property in a new strip off of North Midkiff called Caldera. It's right behind KFC/Taco Bell. The interior of the store is currently being built out. We are hoping to open the store in August. We are really excited about this new adventure of running a retail store. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up so we are going for it.
We have prayed and sought wise council a lot in the past few months in making this decision to open a fly shop. God has continued to open the doors and confirm this is the path for us. We will give it our best and hope to know if the store will make it in the first couple of years. Cameron will still teach 2 classes at MCA upper school, allowing our boys to continue to attend the grammar school.
We have done an amazing amount of work on this store that isn't open yet! We have spent weeks on the design of the interior of the store. Cameron has worked with an architect, a contractor and a fly shop designer to create what we hope will be an awesome store! We are thankful to have gotten this far. Cameron is currently ordering an entire store's worth of inventory that will be taking over our dining room until the store construction is finished. If you've ever built a house you know that it is no small project! It feels like a million decisions daily! Cameron is certainly shouldering the majority of the load on all things fly shop but he asks my opinion on a lot of it!
