Our Home Study went really well. We felt very at ease with our case worker and really enjoyed our Home Study. Our whole family went to pick her up at the airport. The boys especially wanted to see airplanes and go down the “moving steps.” Our case worked immediately started chatting with the boys as we rode home. Carter and Mason wanted to show her their bunkbeds, which led to the tour of our house. She quickly looked around our house. She asked the boys a few more questions as we ate lunch together. There were two notable answers from the boys…when asked what we should name the baby, Carter said, “Alvin!” (b/c they have been watching Alvin and the chipmunks). When asked what will you teach the baby to do, Mason said,” Dance!” We had a good laugh over those answers. The boys were very at ease with her and began to explain to our case worker how we are adopting a baby. It was very sweet. The rest of our time was spent by Cameron and I answering her questions together. Laura Shuman graciously played with the boys to keep them occupied during our interview. We finished the study in about 4 hours and took our case worker back to the airport early.
Thank you for the many prayers for this day to go well. Our prayers were answered. We are excited to be moving into the next phase of waiting to match with a birth family!
